T minus 15 and counting...

Ugh, stayed home sick today and I really needed to go to work. There are end-of-month things that I was going to show someone how to do and she was always busy so I kept putting them off. So tomorrow when I go in I get to beg some departments to accept my paperwork even though I'm late. Last time I have to worry about it though...

T minus 16 and counting...

The girls spent their last day at the babysitter today. She is Hispanic and doesn't speak English well, and I'm not sure she really knew that today was the last day until the girls were picked up and she was paid for the week. I'm glad I didn't go, I probably would have cried. She's watched them for almost 2 years. When I got home my eldest came up to me, gave me a kiss, and asked, "Mommy no work?" She doesn't understand yet, but she's getting there...

Work was great. Yesterday it was find all my bosses and let them know. Today was find all my friends at work and do dances of joy. Oh, and collect bets from all the people that were sure they would quit before I did. Started to delete all my old files and e-mails...stuff I kept for reference but no one else is going to want or need. Who needs an agenda for a meeting in 2005 on professional development planning? I thought I might someday and it felt good to get rid of it.

T minus 17 and counting...

I bit the bullet today and quit my job. Temination date: February 15. The babysitter wanted to increase her weekly rate and while I can sympathize about needing money, we don't have it. So starting February 16 I am a full-time stay-at-home mom. I'm giddy and excited and really, really scared. God help me...
